Sovereign Bank will pay $2.7 million for the naming rights package, which will include exclusive signage over the main entrance of the stadium as well as on top of the complex’s main video board structure. All identification and directional signage will feature the Sovereign Bank name and stadium logo, which is currently being designed. Sovereign Bank will also be the “official banking partner” of the York Revolution, which will include exclusive rights to stadium ATM machines. The York Revolution Kids’ Club, a campaign designed to connect children in the York community with baseball, will be sponsored by Sovereign Bank and introduced in the near future. “Sovereign Bank is always looking for opportunities to have a positive impact on the communities it serves,” said Sovereign Bank Chairman and CEO Jay S. Sidhu. “Our involvement with the York Revolution is yet another way for us to show our commitment to the growth and vitality of the York region.” Sovereign Bank currently has naming rights for other sports and recreational facilities in Reading and Pottsville, Pa., as well as Trenton, N.J. “We have been working hard on securing a strong naming rights partner to help ensure a long future of baseball in the York Community,” said Hall of Famer Brooks Robinson, on behalf of the York Revolution. “We cannot be happier about the relationship with Sovereign Bank and we thank them for their support as we move a major step closer in bringing baseball back to York.” Sovereign Bank Stadium is scheduled to open next year and will play host to Revolution games, along with other events such as concerts, job fairs, movie nights, and youth league games. Demolition is currently underway at the future site of the ballpark, to be located on Arch Street in downtown York. The YORC will be owned by the IDA of York Co. Sovereign Bank Stadium Facts
