(August 19, 2026 – York, Pa.): The York Revolution matched their biggest comeback win of the season, scoring the final eight runs in a 10-6 victory over the High Point Rockers on Wednesday night at WellSpan Park. York (64-40, 29-12) maintains its three-game lead for first place in the North Division having taken the first two games of the six-game series.
York’s bullpen worked 5.1 shutout innings as five pitchers combined to hold the Rockers to just one hit while facing one over the minimum over the game’s final five frames.
Offensively, York pounded 15 hits while adding to its league record by scoring double figures for the 32nd time in a game this season. Shed Long Jr. headlined the effort, reaching base all five times with three extra-base hits.
Luke Napleton opened the game with a leadoff homer to right, spotting the Rockers their first lead of the series.
The Revs answered an inning later as Jackson Ross blasted a towering solo homer to left center, his 16th of the year to even the score at 1-1.
High Point got to Revs starter Julian Costa for three in the third as Colin Davis came through with two strikes on a sac fly to right, and Nick Longhi made it a big inning, adding a two-run homer to right center.
York had an answer in the bottom of the third as Brian Rey punched a two-out RBI single to center, his 101st RBI of the year. It plated Tomo Otosaka who walked and stole second earlier in the inning before scoring his 100th run.
High Point chased Costa in the fourth, adding to the lead at 6-2 with solo homers by Nolan Watson and Napleton who sent his second of the game to almost the identical spot in right. The Rockers threatened for more after a pair of two-out singles, but catcher Austin Bates erased Davis on a pickoff at first to end the inning.
Long Jr. drilled his 11th home run on a solo blast to right in the bottom of the fourth and Bates made it 6-4, beating out an RBI fielder’s choice on a hard chopper to short.
After Shane Gray (9-3) worked a 1-2-3 fifth, the Revs continued their road back with four runs in the bottom of the fifth. Following singles from Rey and Jacob Teter to set the table, Long Jr. smacked a one-out RBI double down the left field line and Drew Ramirez tied it with a grounder toward short that Aidan Brewer mishandled. With starter Yuhi Sako (7-10) lifted, Mike Rosario greeted reliever Brayden Matthews with a line drive single to left-center delivering the go-ahead run. Otosaka, one inning after a 10-pitch at-bat resulted in an infield single, capped a nine-pitch at-bat with an RBI knock through the left side to give York an 8-6 lead.
Tommy Ellisen backed it up with two strikeouts in a three-up, three-down sixth for his fourth consecutive scoreless appearance to begin his pro career and Ryan Shreve took care of a scoreless inning with help of a double play in the seventh.
Rosario launched an opposite field solo homer to left center, his 14th of the year to make it 9-6 in the seventh, and Rey scored the final run on a wild pitch in the eighth.
Tyler Thornton struck out the side in a scoreless eighth and Brendan Collins retired the side in order to close it out in the ninth.
Notes: The Revs improve to 37-16 at home where they are 19-5 since June 21. The four-run comeback is the Revs’ third of the year and first since June 3 vs Charleston. Gray sets a new franchise record for wins by a reliever with his league leading ninth, topping the previous mark of eight relief wins held by Adam Thomas (2012) and Beau Vaughan (2014). Thornton has struck out nine over four innings, earning a hold in each of his last four outings. Otosaka becomes the sixth in Revs history to score 100 runs in a season while his two stolen bases give him 40 on the year, becoming the ninth to reach that mark; he now has 86 career steals with York, two shy of Wilson Valdez’ club record. Nick Dunn saw his franchise record 51-game on-base streak snapped, tied for second longest in league history. Rey (3-for-5) now has a league-leading 145 hits while his 101 RBI are third most in franchise history and the most since Chris Nowak’s record 107 RBI in 2012. Long Jr. now has 48 RBI in his first 34 games, tying Evan Edwards (High Point 2025) for fastest to 48 RBI in league history.
