(August 26, 2026 – Staten Island, NY): Nick Dunn and Shed Long Jr. both went yard twice and Zach Mort struck out nine over six sterling innings as the York Revolution defeated the Staten Island FerryHawks, 9-1 on Wednesday evening at SIUH Community Park. The Revs (69-41, 34-13) have won seven of their last eight, maintaining a four-game lead for first place while lowering their magic number to 13 to clinch a playoff berth.
York’s offense got started right away as Tomo Otosaka led off the game with a single to center and stole second. After Dunn walked, Brian Rey smacked an RBI single to right, tying the Revs’ all-time single-season record with his 107th RBI of the year. Long Jr. added a sac fly on a liner to left for his 50th RBI of the year as the Revs jumped to a 2-0 lead.
Otosaka nailed a one-out triple to left center in the top of the second and scored on Dunn’s sac fly to center to make it 3-0.
Alfredo Gonzalez ambushed Mort’s first pitch in the bottom of the second for a homer to left center, but it proved to be the FerryHawks’ only run of the game.
Mort (2-0) went on to retire his next nine in-a-row before working around leadoff singles in his final two innings, holding Staten Island to just four hits in six innings with no walks and nine strikeouts.
Long Jr. launched a homer to right center with two outs in the third as the Revs went up 4-1.
Dunn lined a leadoff homer to right in the top of the fifth to add one more.
Jacob Teter brought home a run on a fielder’s choice in the seventh and scored his 100th run of the year when Mike Rosario walked with the bases loaded.
Dunn capped a perfect night at the plate with a majestic homer to right center in the top of the eighth. His second of the night increased his team leading total to 23 home runs on the year, as he ties Carlos Franco’s franchise record with his fifth multi-homer game of the year.
Long Jr. drilled a homer to left center, his 13th of the year, in the top of the ninth to account for his second multi-homer game of the season and the final 9-1 tally.
Brendan Collins, Josh Mollerus, and Trey Braithwaite all handled scoreless innings out of the bullpen to close it with the Revs rolling double play balls in each of the final two innings.
Notes: Rey ties Chris Nowak (2012) for the Revs single-season record of 107 RBI. York is a season-best 28 games over .500. Dunn scored four runs and drove in three, giving him 101 runs and 104 RBI on the year. Teter has 103 RBI and 100 runs scored as the duo joins Telvin Nash (2019) as the only players in Revs history to reach 90 runs and 90 RBI, let alone 100 runs and 100 RBI in the same season. Revs pitchers struck out 11 FerryHawks, marking the seventh time in the last eight games they’ve reached double digits as a staff.
