York Revolution star second baseman takes home league’s top honor for July

York Revolution second baseman Nick Dunn has been named Atlantic League Player of the Month for July, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Dunn, 29, helped lead the Revolution to a franchise record 22-5 record for the month as they tied a league record for wins in July. Dunn played in all 27 games, collecting 45 hits in 113 at-bats for a league-best .398 average. He posted a league-high .504 on-base percentage and a .726 slugging percentage for a league-best 1.229 OPS for the month. Dunn led all ALPB hitters with 45 hits, 13 doubles and three triples while finishing second in the league with 24 walks and 31 RBI behind only teammate Jacob Teter (36).

The standout lefty hitter enjoyed 14 multi-hit games including a five-hit effort, the second of his career, on July 25 at Lancaster and a four-hit game vs Staten Island on July 1 during which he tied a club record with five runs scored. He notched his fourth two-homer game of the year on July 16 vs Staten Island and had several clutch hits in a six-game sweep at Lancaster, including the decisive 12^th inning RBI double on July 22 and the tiebreaking two-run homer in the finale on July 26. He added another game-winning hit with a go-ahead double in the bottom of the eighth on July 29 vs Lexington.

Dunn concluded the month with a 20-game hitting streak, one shy of the league’s longest this season, as he hit safely in every game from July 9-31. He reached base safely in every game of the month, part of what is now a 39-game on-base streak, tied for third longest in the league this year and tied for fourth longest in Revs history.

“He had an unbelievable month and is super deserving,” remarked Revs manager Rick Forney. “We had a lot of guys that had huge months, it was a crazy number. We had a lot of runs driven in from the middle of the order which is also a complement to the job the guys at the bottom and top of the lineup did by getting on base.”

Dunn is the 19^th Revs player to win an Atlantic League monthly award and first since LHP Brendan Cellucci last August. He is the Revs’ 12^th position player to be named ALPB Player of the Month and first since Frankie Tostado last July.

The Sunbury, PA native is leading the league in batting at .371 since the beginning of June and entered play on Tuesday ranked fourth in the league in batting (.333), fifth in RBI (79), first in OPS (1.034), tied for fourth in on-base percentage (.430), second in slugging (.604), fourth in hits (112), tied for first in doubles (26), fifth in walks (58), tied for second in triples (4), first in total bases (203), and first in WAR (3.78).

An eighth-year pro, Dunn joined the Revs following six years in the St. Louis Cardinals organization and a 2025 campaign split between the Seattle Mariners and Philadelphia Phillies organizations, playing at Triple-A with all three clubs. He was originally a fifth-round pick of the Cardinals in the 2018 draft out of University of Maryland where he was an All-American for the Terrapins.
