(March 24) — Save a bit of that tax refund. The York Revolution announced today their 2017 Fan Fest will be held Saturday, April 15, at PeoplesBank Park.

The daylong kickoff to the 2017 Revolution season will feature a brunch for season ticket holders, auditions for national anthem performers, on-field social media and interactive stations with players and coaches, free admission to the Stauffers Playground, and on-field games for fans. Fan Fest will culminate in a 2 p.m. exhibition game between the Revolution and the Somerset Patriots.

After the game, the first 1,000 fans will receive a free Revs Time yard sign presented by Shipley Energy, along with instructions on how to display the sign to enter a contest in which one homeowner will win a free year of electricity from Shipley Energy.

Team executives will also host a ribbon cutting and preview picnic for select invitees in the newly designed Bullpen Balcony and Home Run Patio and mark the opening of Closer’s Bar, a new full-service bar featuring mixed drinks, frozen drinks, craft brews, and beers on tap and serving both private picnics and the general seating of the ballpark.

“Fan Fest is one of our favorite events of the year,” said Revolution President Eric Menzer. “It marks the imminent arrival of baseball and lets us welcome back the best fan base in professional baseball. We’re excited to show them all the new things coming to PeoplesBank Park and give them a taste of the 2017 York Revolution experience.”

Auditions for those interested in singing the national anthem before Revolution games this season will begin at 11 a.m. Interested participants should pre-register by sending an email to [email protected]. The first 30 pre-registered singers will receive a complimentary ticket to Fan Fest.

At noon, Menzer and other team officials will conduct a ribbon cutting for the new Bullpen Balcony and Home Run Patio areas, which will accommodate groups of 20 to more than 400 for private catered parties and events in the right field corner of PeoplesBank Park.

From 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m., fans will be able to take the field themselves to participate in a variety of games and activities, and Revolution players and coaches will be available for autographs, photos, selfies, and more before warming up for the 2 p.m. exhibition game against the Patriots.

The ballpark’s concessions stands will be open for food sales as well and feature free sampling of some of the season’s new ballpark fare. Fan Fest attendees will also be among the first to sample the Yuengling’s Ice Cream flavors that will be offered as part of the team’s new partnership with the premium ice cream brand.

Tickets for Fan Fest are $5 and will be available beginning Monday, March 27, at www.yorkrevolution.com, by calling (717) 801-HITS, or by visiting the Apple Chevrolet Ticket Office.
