(June 13) — Last year, the York Revolution, United Fiber & Data, and YRK Creative stepped up to the plate to attract more than a ton of non-perishable food donations for the York County Food Bank. Beginning this Monday, June 18, the three will be back in the batter’s box for another swing.

Monday will mark the first of three Hunger Free Mondays at PeoplesBank Park. Fans and members of the York County community who donate a non-perishable food item to the Food Bank will once again receive a free ticket to a Monday Revolution game.

In addition, for each pound of food collected at PeoplesBank Park, United Fiber & Data will donate 50 cents to the York County Food Bank.

The initiative features logos and other materials designed by the staff of YRK Creative, publishers of YRK Magazine. YRK Creative also developed moving profiles of Food Bank beneficiaries that will be featured in several editions of the Revolution’s playbill given to fans at each game.

Last year’s Hunger Free Mondays drew more than 2,000 pounds of non-perishable food items to the ticket office at PeoplesBank Park. In 2018, however, the Revs play only three Monday home games. But Revolution President Eric Menzer said he is not worried about the schedule affecting donations.

“Revs fans have always stepped up for neighbors in need, and they never back down from a challenge,” Menzer said. “Yes, there are slightly fewer opportunities to redeem the free tickets, but this is really about the York community coming together for its own members. We know that community will be generous, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see that community exceed last year’s amazing total. Either way, we are thrilled to again thank those who donate with a free night at the ballpark.”

Donations can be dropped off at the PeoplesBank Park ticket office Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and on game days.
