(March 22, 2019) — York County resident and current American Idol contestant Jake Puliti will lend his now famous vocal chords to the national anthem on Friday, April 26, to begin the first game of the York Revolution’s 2019 season.

Puliti wowed American Idol judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan, and even prompted Perry to do “The Worm” as he auditioned, earning him the coveted “Golden Ticket to Hollywood” on the March 10 episode of American Idol, which is now in its 16th season.

“It’s always a pleasure to spotlight our neighbors whose talents have earned them national recognition,” said Revolution President Eric Menzer. “We are very excited to welcome Jake back to the area and grateful for his help in starting our 2019 season on a high note.”

Puliti’s appearance adds another big element to what the team has called its “Grand Reopening,” an Opening Day theme that highlights the many new elements of PeoplesBank Park and the Revolution game experience that will debut on April 26.

Among those is a new playing field installed by Hummer Turfgrass Systems of Manheim, PA, which has installed playing surfaces at the Philadelphia Eagles’ Lincoln Financial Field and Penn State’s Beaver Stadium, among many others.

Opening Day will also mark the opening to the public of the 1741 Club presented by UPMC, the debut of the all-new Monarch and Solomon Suites on the skybox level, and the unveiling of new concessions and merchandise by the newly created Revolution Hospitality.

To commemorate the Grand Reopening, the team will host a Grand First Pitch and invite pairs of fans to buy a special Opening Day package that includes a commemorative Revolution baseball they can throw out to each other in a giant synchronized pre-game first pitch.

Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. for the team’s 6:30 p.m. game against the Long Island Ducks, and the first 1,000 fans into PeoplesBank Park that day will receive a free Revolution T-Shirt courtesy of the Law Firm of Dale E. Anstine.

Tickets are available in the ticket office at PeoplesBank Park, online HERE, and by phone at (717) 801-HITS.
