(June 20): York Traditions Bank and Eventive, the event planning and production division of the York Revolution, know that Yorkers love two things: their country and a good party. In honor of both, the two organizations are planning the biggest July 4 celebration in their partnership’s history.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Independence Day, York Traditions Bank and Eventive will open the gates of PeoplesBank Park to welcome thousands to a free celebration that will be part concert, part carnival, part food fest, and all celebration of the nation’s birthday.

Proving that “the sky’s the limit” when it comes to a good time, July4York will feature tethered hot air balloon rides presented by CGA Law Firm from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., winds permitting. Early arrivals to the celebration will enjoy spectacular views of surrounding downtown York from above the Revolution’s home field.

Back on terra firma, the event’s Americana Music Festival will supply the party soundtrack through performances by musicians Mike Males, Jeff Stike, and Callie Tomblin.

Party-goers of all ages will also enjoy inflatables, lawn games, the Stauffer’s Playground, and picnics in the outfield, featuring grilled creations, all-American ballpark fare, and a variety of beers and other beverages.

Finally, at 9:30 p.m., the night will culminate in the area’s biggest July 4 fireworks display, the American Town Fireworks show presented by Glatfelter Insurance Group.

“If you are in the York area, this is going to be the place to be on July 4,” said Eventive Director Adam Nugent. “Thanks to great sponsors like York Traditions, CGA, Glatfelter, Bon Ton, DownTown Inc, and more, we are looking at more than four hours of family entertainment, great food and music, and everything that makes July 4 the best day of the summer, and we’re very excited to welcome our neighbors to the party.”

Making that celebration free to the York area remains important to title sponsor York Traditions Bank.

“We are proud of our country, we’re proud of our community, and we’re proud to present this wonderful opportunity to celebrate our nation’s independence together with our neighbors,” said Gene Draganosky, President & CEO of York Traditions Bank.
