(June 23, 2026 – Charleston, WV):  Rhett Kouba struck out a career-high 11 and every starter had at least one hit for the second consecutive game as the York Revolution (30-25) capped a long travel day with an 11-4 victory over the Charleston Dirty Birds (19-36) on Tuesday evening at GoMart Ballpark.

Brian Rey headlined the offense with a 4-for-5 effort as York pounded 15 hits as a team. Jackson Ross and Ben Blackwell led the way with three RBI apiece.

Kouba was razor sharp from the get-go, striking out the side in order in the first.

He was tested after back-to-back singles in the third but escaped unharmed and kept the game scoreless until the Revs offense could break through in the fifth.

York had threatened in the first with Tomo Otosaka’s leadoff double and a pair of walks, but Charleston righty Josimar Cousin’s bases loaded escape propelled him through a matching set of four scoreless innings, allowing only an infield hit to Rey before the Revs went to work in the fifth.

Austin Bates ignited the big rally with a one-out double to left and Otosaka walked. With two outs, Rey came through with an RBI single through the left side to break the ice. After Otosaka swiped third and Rey stole second, Jacob Teter walked to load the bases. Ross kept it going with an RBI infield single and Blackwell chipped a two-run single into center to give York a 4-0 lead.

Charleston also got on the board in the fifth but only with one run on a Javier Crespo sac fly to right.

Kouba struck out the side for the second time in the sixth inning. Working around a leadoff hit batter, he struck out James Nelson for his ninth punchout, tying his season high. Following a walk to put two aboard, he struck out Carlos De La Cruz for his tenth strikeout of the night, tying a career best set in 2023 with Double-A Corpus Christi. He slammed the door on Charleston’s threat, striking out Yassel Pino to establish a new career-high with his 11th strikeout of the night.

The Revs pulled away with three runs in the seventh as Blackwell lined a sac fly to left and Mike Rosario cracked a two-run double to right center to make it a 7-1 lead.

Kouba (4-2) was lifted after a leadoff single in the bottom of the seventh, just his fourth hit allowed. Jose Lopez walked his first two to load the bases before Jaylen Smith nailed a two-run single off the left field wall, cutting York’s lead to 7-3. The tide quickly turned, however, as Lopez retired Shawon Dunston Jr on a foul pop up and Hunter Parsons entered to strike out Nelson before retiring Narciso Crook on an inning-ending groundout.

York put up three more in the eighth as Rey lined a two-out RBI single to center and Ross blasted a two-run double off the base of the center field fence to go up 10-3.

Jhon Nunez contributed a sac fly for the Dirty Birds in the eighth.

Nick Dunn capped the Revs’ attack with an RBI single to center in the top of the ninth before Shane Gray closed it out with a scoreless inning.

Notes: York put up double figures in runs in back-to-back games for the third time this season. They have totaled 15 hits or more in back-to-back games for the first time this year. Of York’s 11 runs, 10 scored with two outs. Otosaka stole two bases giving him 20 on the year including 14 in his past 15 games; he surpassed Jalen Miller for seventh in Revs history with 66 steals in his York career. The Revs totaled five steals, one shy of a season-high, as they now have nine in their past two games. Rey’s four-hit game is his second of the year; he now has a nine-game hitting streak and a 28-game on-base streak. Ross now has an eight-game hitting streak and a 31-game on-base streak. Blackwell’s three RBI are a season best. Kouba has allowed two runs or fewer in six of his 11 starts; he has won four straight decisions including back-to-back starts. Kouba’s 11 strikeouts marks the fifth time that a Revs pitcher has struck out double figures this season. York struck out 15 as a team, one shy of a season-high. The Revs improve to 7-0 against the Dirty Birds this season. Tuesday marked the Revs’ first game outside of Pennsylvania since May 28 at Long Island after playing 21 in-a-row at home or in Lancaster.
