(September 6, 2026 – York, Pa.): Shed Long Jr. homered and drove in both runs on an otherwise quiet day for the York Revolution offense in an 8-2 defeat to the Long Island Ducks on Sunday afternoon in the regular season home finale in front of 4,201 fans at WellSpan Park. The Revs and Ducks are now tied for first place in the second half at 38-19 while Long Island holds the tiebreaker with six games remaining.
Long Island jumped ahead early for the second straight game. After loading the bases with no outs, Revs starter Zach Mort struck out the next two, but was unable to completely avoid damage as Aaron Antonini doubled to right, spotting the visitors a 2-0 lead.
York got on the board in the bottom of the second. Jacob Teter led off with a single up the middle and advanced on a wild pitch and a ground out. Long Jr. drove him home from third base with a two-strike single to center, knifing the deficit to 2-1.
Jorge Bonifacio led off the fourth with a homer to left, his 28th of the season and Wilmer Difo reached on a two-out infield single to plate another as Long Island went up 4-1. Gavin Collins delivered a big blow with two outs in the sixth, serving a two-run single into right to make it 6-1 and Kole Kaler and Difo added run-scoring knocks in the seventh as the Long Island lead climbed to 8-1.
Long Jr. greeted reliever Sal Romano with a homer inside the right field foul pole to lead off the bottom of the seventh as his 15th of the year provided the final scoring.
Acquired via trade from the Frontier League earlier in the day, Ducks starter Anthony Escobar (1-0) allowed just one run in five innings to win his debut, facing the minimum over his final three frames helped by double play balls in the fourth and fifth.
Mort (2-1) suffered his first loss, tagged with four runs in five innings while striking out six and walking only two.
Cam Robinson had a strong outing in relief, striking out two and rolling a double play in two scoreless innings on his 27th birthday.
