(November 5, 2020) — Mental health is a struggle so many face and yet so few want to discuss. Thanks to a partnership with WellSpan Health and the York Revolution, SportsRadio 98.9 FM WOYK is not only talking about it, it’s doing it on the air each Monday night.
Mindset Matters: A Series on Mental Health Brought to You by WellSpan Health will premiere this Monday, November 9, with the goal, creators said, of “inspiring hope and breaking down stigma one conversation at a time.”
Each weekly conversation will be led by Dr. Michael Diller, licensed psychologist and director of the Employee Assistance Program at WellSpan Health, and WOYK GM and Revolution play-by-play man Darrell Henry, whose own personal experiences helped inspire the series.
“Mental health is a topic so important that if it’s not acknowledged and addressed, it can derail your entire being. And 2020 has thrown us all one giant curveball that can really make the problem worse,” Henry said. “Mindset Matters was created to help end the stigma and break down those barriers through revealing personal accounts and clinical guidance that we hope will resonate with anyone and everyone, including those who may need help figuring out their game plan on where to start.”
Diller echoed his co-host’s sentiments and stressed the timing for the new series is ideal.
“I see it as an honor to join the collaborative effort between WellSpan Health and the Revs and to introduce this series in a time where wellbeing and self-care are of paramount importance,” Diller added. “Maintaining good mental and emotional health is a major part of a person’s overall wellbeing that affects all aspects of our life. It’s time to shine a spotlight on the benefits of doing so.”
Mindset Matters premieres Monday at 6 p.m. on SportsRadio 98.9 FM WOYK. Listen live at www.989woyk.com.
