Rodriguez is a veteran of seven big league seasons during which he has posted five wins, 172 strikeouts, and a 4.80 ERA in 182 appearances and 170.2 innings. A native of Santo Domingo, DR, Rodriguez made his Major League debut with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2016-17. He went on to star in Japan in 2018-19 as one of the top setup men in the NPB, holding a 1.85 ERA in 90 games on the Japanese big league circuit. The lefty returned to the MLB with the Texas Rangers in 2020 and was shipped with All-Star outfielder Joey Gallo to the New York Yankees at the 2021 trade deadline, helping the Yankees during their postseason push with a 2.84 ERA in 21 games in pinstripes. Rodriguez was involved in an all-NYC trade at the start of the 2022 season when he was dealt to the Mets and appeared in a career-high 55 games for another playoff-bound squad. The 18th year pro pitched for the Boston Red Sox in 2023-24 and spent this offseason pitching in the Dominican Winter League. Now 34 years old, Rodriguez resides in Bernville, PA.
“We’re excited about his addition,” said Forney. “He contacted (pitching coach) Joe (Harris) who he knows from offseason training now that he lives in Pennsylvania. He’s really excited about the opportunity to stay closer to home. Hopefully he can get back to where he was because he was pretty dynamic for a long time.”
Morales returns to York for his second pro season. The 25-year-old went 1-1 with a 5.69 ERA in 29 outings (seven starts) as a rookie for the 2025 championship club. After opening the season as the team’s number three starter, Morales transitioned to a long relief / spot starting role as the season progressed. He earned his first pro victory with 2.1 scoreless innings on June 26 in Lancaster as his ERA shrunk to 4.28 at the end of June. After logging 61.2 innings with York, Morales shined in the Puerto Rican Winter League, going 3-0 with a 2.92 ERA in 17 outings for Santurce. A native of Souderton, PA, Morales pitched in college at LaSalle, Penn State, and Purdue where he was All-Big Ten.
“He did a really good job for us last year with no pro experience coming into a very difficult league. I thought the overall body of work was really good. There were times where he battled some inconsistency as you’d expect from a young player but he did a really good job for us and was a big part of our bullpen. We’re anxious to get him back and hopefully he can do a little more for us in his second year.”
Brown comes to York after spending each of his first four pro seasons in the Toronto Blue Jays organization, reaching Triple-A Buffalo in 2025. The 26-year-old is a career .234 hitter with 38 homers, 46 doubles, 148 RBI, and 50 steals. He was an MiLB.com Organization All-Star in 2023 when he combined for 18 homers and 57 RBI between High-A Vancouver and Double-A New Hampshire where he has spent much of the past three seasons. A native of Hinesville, GA, Brown was All-ACC at NC State where he helped lead the Wolfpack to the College World Series in 2021.
“We’re really excited about his addition,” said Forney. “He’s got some bigtime power in that bat, can steal bags, plays multiple outfield positions and really fits that mold of what we like. He’s still very hungry and motivated. We’re looking for big things out of him.”
Ross comes to York for his second pro season. The 26-year-old was a ninth round pick of the Washington Nationals in 2024 and debuted with Fredericksburg last year where he hit .289 with six homers and 17 RBI in 32 games before being promoted to High-A Wilmington for the remainder of the season. Ross slugged a double and a late-game go-ahead homer in his pro debut before blasting a walk-off homer in his second career game. The versatile Ross played 30 games at first base, 28 games at third, 10 games in right, and one game at second base. A native of Winter Haven, FL, Ross was drafted out of Ole Miss where he played 1B/OF after transferring from Florida Atlantic University where he was a First Team All-Conference-USA third baseman.
“I’d call him a super utility type of player. He had a great college career and it’s just unfortunate that it looks like he never really got a consistent opportunity last year. We’re really excited about his upside and athletic ability. We’re anxious to get a good look at him.”
