(August 1, 2026 – York, Pa.): Reigning Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week Shawn Rapp was magnificent again as the York Revolution stymied the Lexington Legends, winning 5-1 on Saturday night at WellSpan Park. The Revs improve to a league-best 56-33 overall and 21-5 in the second half, continuing the best second half start in Atlantic League history as they maintain their three-game lead for first place.
Rapp (4-3) allowed just one run over a career-high six-plus innings, limiting the Legends to four hits and one walk while striking out four.
York struck first, taking advantage of a pair of walks from Lexington starter Peyton Glavine (1-2) in the third as Jacob Teter, fresh off his franchise single-month record 36 RBI in July, drove in the first two runs in August with a two-run double to right for a 2-0 lead.
Gabe Howell punched a two-out single through the right side to cut the lead to 2-1 in the fourth, but Rapp retired his next seven to finish six innings, and Revs pitchers combined to retire 16 of the final 17 batters as Lexington did not muster another hit the rest of the night.
After a five-pitch sixth inning, Rapp returned for the seventh but was lifted after an error put a leadoff runner aboard. It was a rare defensive misstep as the Revs made several terrific plays in the field.
Ryan Shreve entered to record three ground outs in the seventh for his team-leading ninth hold, stranding the tying run at second base.
The Revs plated two big insurance runs in their half of the seventh. Austin Bates drilled a leadoff double to left and took third on a throwing error, and with two outs, Brian Rey hammered an RBI double to left center. Teter followed with an RBI single to center, again tying Rey for the second most RBI in the league with 85 on the season.
Brendan Collins began his Revs career with a third consecutive scoreless, hitless outing in a 1-2-3 eighth.
York scored one final time in the bottom of the eighth as Mike Rosario led off with a double to left and went to third on Drew Ramirez’ bunt single. That set up Tomo Otosaka for a line drive sac fly to center, accounting for the final 5-1 margin.
Josh Mollerus slammed the door with a perfect ninth, striking out the final two batters.
Notes: Rapp has allowed just two runs in 16.2 innings over his last three starts (3-0, 1.08 ERA). It is the second 5-1 win of the series for the Revs who held the Legends to four hits in Saturday’s victory and just five hits in Wednesday’s win. Teter (2-for-4) has a league-leading 43 RBI in 29 games since June 30 and 35 RBI in the last 17 home games. He is now hitting .452 (14-for-31) on an eight-game hitting streak. Rosario went 2-for-3 and doubled twice; he is batting a league-best .413 (31-for-75) in 23 games since July 2 and .483 (14-for-29) over his last eight games. The Revs pounded six doubles out of their 10 hits as they take the league lead with 198 doubles on the season. Nick Dunn lost a 20-game hitting streak, one shy of the league’s longest this season, but walked in the third to extend his on-base streak to 37 consecutive games, fifth longest in the league this season and fifth longest in Revs history. York has won 13 of 15. The Revs are 18-3 since July 9 and 24-5 since June 30.
