(July 30, 2026 – York, Pa.): The York Revolution set a franchise record for runs scored in a 24-11 demolition of the Lexington Legends on Thursday night at WellSpan Park. York improves to a league-best 55-32 overall with a league record 20-4 start to the second half, maintaining a four-game lead for first place.
Tomo Otosaka enjoyed the first five-hit game of his Revs career. Shed Long Jr. launched a pair of homers and tied a franchise record with five runs scored. Drew Ramirez and Devonte Brown scored four runs apiece with Brown tying a club record with four walks. Austin Bates homered and drove in a season-high four. The Revs tied a team record with nine doubles.
York immediately jumped in front in record setting fashion as Jacob Teter ripped an RBI single to right with two outs in the first, establishing a new club record for RBI in a month with 35, topping David Washington’s mark of 34 set in June 2024. Long Jr. followed with his first homer of the night, a two-run bomb to right as the Revs led 3-0.
Revs starter Brandon Peterson worked a 1-2-3 first inning for the fourth consecutive start, but facing Lexington for the third time in his first five career outings, the Legends rallied for two in the second, scoring on an Eric Rataczak double to right center and on a fielder’s choice.
York responded with a two-out uprising in their half of the second, loading the bases for Brian Rey who slugged a two-run double off the right field fence for a 5-2 lead.
Lexington countered with two-out RBI singles by Jackson Feltner and Rataczak, clawing back within 5-4 in the third.
The Revs again pulled away with three in the home half, building an 8-4 lead. Long Jr. and Ramirez began the inning with back-to-back doubles to produce a run. After a single by Mike Rosario put runners at the corners, Rosario executed a double steal with Ramirez, drawing a throw to second that allowed Ramirez to race home. York added one more on a two-out throwing error by Feltner from third base.
Curtis Terry’s two-out RBI double to right center brought Lexington within 8-5 in the fourth.
The Revs seized a commanding lead with five in the bottom of the fourth. Raudy Rivera walked Brown with the bases loaded to drive the first run across without a hit. Otosaka beat Rivera to the bag for a two-run infield single, and Nick Dunn ripped his own two-run single into right to balloon the lead to 13-5.
An even bigger frame followed as York scored six times in the fifth, turning it into a 19-5 blowout. Rosario cracked a two-run double off the Arch Nemesis, another run was balked home, and Bates drilled a three-run homer to left center, his third of the year.
Lexington made hay with five in the sixth as the score resembled a football contest. Patrick Sanchez launched a solo homer to left and Tres Gonzalez singled home a run. Damiano Palmegiani singled in two more and a bases loaded walk to Micajah Wall made it 19-10.
Long Jr. launched his second homer of the night to lead off the bottom of the sixth as the Revs reached the 20-run plateau for the ninth time in franchise history and club record third time this season. Bates squibbed an RBI single through the right side and the Revs tied the franchise record of 22 runs for the second time this year on Otosaka’s RBI double off the top of the right field fence. Rey helped the Revs to a new all-time high of 23 runs with a two-out RBI infield single.
Lexington plated one more in the seventh as Xane Washington led off with a triple to right and scored on an error.
Dunn smoked an RBI double down the right field line at a season-best 112.2 mph exit velocity to close the scoring in the bottom of the eighth with the Revs’ record-tying ninth double of the game, one shy of a league record, and the third time they’ve reached that mark since last year’s regular season finale.
Denny Bentley (3-2) picked up the win out of the bullpen, allowing one run in two innings between the fourth and fifth. He has allowed just one run in 5.2 innings over his last five outings during which he also has a hold and a pair of saves.
Notes: Thursday’s 24 runs are the highest single-game total in Revs history (2,490 games). Long Jr. is the fastest in league history to 30 RBI (20 games). His five-run game is the fifth in club history and second this month (Dunn, July 1 vs Staten Island). Rey becomes the first in Revs history with two 20-game hitting streaks as he owns two of the league’s four 20-gamers this year; he is one game shy of the league’s longest streak of the season, a 21-gamer by Southern Maryland’s Brody Fahr. York has three of the league’s seven 20-run performances this year and three of the top five totals (21 or more). Thursday’s 24-run effort is tied for the league’s second most in a game this year and tied for ninth most in a game in league history, three runs shy of the record. The 35 combined runs are one shy of a franchise record for a single game. Otosaka’s five-hit game is the Revs’ third of the year and second this week as Dunn had a five-hit game Saturday in Lancaster; Jackson Ross had the other one, April 22 vs Lancaster. Dunn has a 19-game hitting streak as the Revs own three of the league’s top five streaks this year; he also extends an on-base streak to 35 games, tied for fifth longest in the league this year (York has four of top seven) and tied for fifth longest in Revs history (third longest this year). Brown’s four walks tie a club record for the 16th time and first since July 3, 2024 (Rudy Martin Jr vs Lancaster). Brendan Collins struck out two in a scoreless eighth for his second scoreless appearance to begin his Revs career; he has four strikeouts and no hits allowed in two innings. Zach Sabers closed it with a scoreless ninth. The Revs have won 12 of 13 and a franchise record 17 of 19, tied for the league’s best 19-game stretch all-time. They are 23-4 since June 30, tied for the league’s best 27-game stretch ever. Their 22 wins in July are tied for sixth most in a month in league history and most since 2022. Their 22 wins tie Gastonia (2022) for the league’s all-time July record (records available since 2010).
