(August 4, 2026 – York, Pa.): Four games after setting a franchise record for runs scored, the York Revolution nearly matched that number with a 23-6 bludgeoning of the Long Island Ducks on Tuesday evening at WellSpan Park. The Revs improve to a league record 22-5 to start the second half, and lead the North Division by 4.5 games ahead of second place Long Island.
The Revs racked up 24 hits. League batting leader Brian Rey went 4-for-5 with four RBI and Jacob Teter was 3-for-5 with five RBI, moving past Rey for second in the league with 90 RBI on the season. Jackson Ross drove in four and Austin Bates had a four-hit game, among the largest individual totals.
The Revs enjoyed their first of four huge innings with a five-run first. Rey got the scoring started with an RBI single through the right side and Teter crushed a three-run homer to right center as York led 4-0, four batters in. Shed Long Jr. sparked another opportunity with a one-out single, went first-to-third on Drew Ramirez’ bloop hit to center, and jetted home on a pop up to shallow left, turning it into a sac fly for Rosario and a 5-0 lead.
Rey singled home another run in the second as the lead grew to 6-0.
York starter Brendan Yagesh escaped a bases loaded, no-out jam in the second with a strikeout of Rene Pinto before retiring Kole Kaler on a 6-4-3 double play. The rookie lefty followed with a 1-2-3 inning against the top of the order in the third.
Long Island took a chunk out of the Revs’ lead in the fourth as Henry Kusiak homered to left and Pinto hammered a two-run homer to left center, dicing the lead to 6-3.
The Revs’ response was twice as big, scoring six times for a commanding 12-3 advantage through four. Rey blasted a two-run double to deep center and Teter added an RBI double to right. Long Jr. parked a three-run homer down the right field line as Ducks starter Tanner Jacobson (3-5) allowed 11 hits and 12 runs (10 earned) in four innings.
The Ducks plated three unearned runs in the fifth as Jacob Robson walked with the bases loaded, Alsander Womack lined a sac fly to right, and Pinto singled up the middle to plate one more, forcing Yagesh’s exit after 4.2 innings.
York reliever Denny Bentley (4-2) entered with the lead at 12-6 and retired Kaler on a ground out to end the fifth before striking out the side in the sixth to earn the win.
The Revs ripped off five more against reliever Ryan Langford in the sixth as Ross crushed a three-run homer to left, Bates ripped an RBI single up the middle, and Tomo Otosaka plated Bates on a triple to the gap in right center, ballooning the lead to 17-6.
York’s final six came against outfielder Aaron Takacs in the bottom of the eighth. Otosaka, Teter, Ross, and Ramirez all drove in runs on singles. Devonte Brown mixed in a sac fly and Pedro Moreno picked up his first career hit with an RBI double down the left field line.
Ryan Shreve, Scott Borgmann, and Zach Sabers all fired scoreless innings in relief to close it out.
Notes: The two division rivals met for the first time since May 28 as they will face each other 15 times between August 4-September 6. York’s 4.5-game division lead is a season best. Tuesday’s outburst came four games after the Revs set a club record with 24 runs in Thursday’s win vs Lexington, as they have eclipsed the previous record of 22 runs twice in five games. York’s 24 hits are tied for third most in a game in club history and the Revs’ most since a 25-hit performance on July 2, 2019 at Southern Maryland. The Revs’ 24 hits tie a WellSpan Park record set on September 10, 2010 vs Lancaster. It is the most hits in an Atlantic League game since 2024. The Revs scored at least 21 runs for the fourth time this season as they own four of the league’s top six single-game totals. It is the seventh time in club history they’ve scored at least 21 and the 10th time they’ve reached 20 runs (fourth this season). Including Sunday’s suspended game, York has scored double digits in a game 30 times, tied for most in league history (Lancaster, 2021). Dunn has a 38-game on-base streak, 39 games including Sunday’s suspended contest. Teter’s homer was his 19th of the year, tying Dunn and Brandon Lewis for the team lead. Ross has homered in back-to-back games including Sunday’s suspended contest which does not yet have stats posted. Bates’ four-hit game is a season best. Including Sunday’s game in which he logged two scoreless innings, Bentley has allowed just one run in 9.0 innings over his last seven outings; he has two wins, two saves, and a hold over his last six appearances. Borgmann’s appearance was his first since July 18 after being activated from the Injured List earlier in the day. The Revs also signed RHP Tommy Ellisen on Tuesday; the 23-year-old out of University of Georgia will make his pro debut with York. Long Island entered the game with a league-best 4.75 ERA and .241 opponents average.
