(August 31st, 2023 – York, Pa.):  The York Revolution closed out a 10-game homestand with a bang, winning the final three games of their series against the Long Island Ducks and taking Thursday’s finale by a final score of 10-6 at WellSpan Park. The Revs have won back-to-back series and five of their last seven.

The Ducks drew first blood in Thursday’s contest, scoring in the first inning on a two-out RBI double by Sam Travis for a 1-0 lead.

York got on the board in the third inning against Ducks starter Kyle Lobstein, using three straight hits by Jhon Nunez, Alejandro Rivero, and Alexis Pantoja to build the rally. Pantoja’s single into right tied the game at 1-1, and Trey Martin cleared the bases with a two-run triple to right field giving the Revs a 3-1 lead. Troy Stokes Jr. singled home a run later in the inning making the score 4-1 after three.

Long Island scored once in the top of the fourth after Alex Dickerson led off with a double and was brought home by a sac fly from Alejandro De Aza, cutting York’s lead to 4-2.

York responded again as Nunez doubled and raced home when Ducks catcher Joe DeCarlo had a pitch hit off his glove behind home for a passed ball, growing the lead to 5-2..

Long Island continued to chip back in the fifth, scoring once on a Ruben Tejada RBI single up the middle to make it 5-3.

York erupted to score five times in the fifth inning, using three consecutive singles including an RBI knock from Ruchard Urena. Rivero later drew a walk with the bases loaded to drive in a run, Pantoja drove in a run on a ground out, and Martin roped a two-run double to left center capping the five-run frame with a season-high four-RBI performance and ending Lobstein’s outing as York’s lead exploded to 10-3.

The Ducks wouldn’t go away, as with two outs in the sixth, DeCarlo launched a three-run homer to left field to make it 10-6.

Revs starter J.T. Hintzen (9-6) lasted six innings, striking out five with no walks to earn the win. He threw 60 of his 75 pitches for strikes.

The Revs’ bullpen took care of the rest as Emilker Guzman, Will McAffer, and Carlos Espinal did not allow a run over the final three innings to close out the victory.

The Revs scored double figures for the second time in three games, outscoring the Ducks 30-11 in those three contests. York closes the season series with a 12-9 head-to-head record against Long Island.
