(September 13, 2026 – Staten Island, NY): The York Revolution closed the books on its record breaking 2026 season with a 9-2 victory over the Staten Island FerryHawks on Sunday afternoon at SIUH Community Park. The Revs finish with the league’s second-best record at 78-48, good for the second highest winning percentage in franchise history. They also finish the second half 43-20, tied for the best half in club history and their best ever second half mark.
York finishes the second half tied for first place, but under the Atlantic League’s two-half system, misses the postseason as they lose the second half tiebreaker against Long Island. It marks the second time in four years that the Revs were at least a top three overall club over the course of the entire season but were kept out of postseason qualification.
The Revs entered Sunday needing a victory and a Long Island loss to advance. The Revs took care of their business but found out their fate on the bus ride home when the Ducks finished off a 6-1 victory vs Southern Maryland to secure the North Division’s second half postseason entry.
York trailed briefly as Johnni Turbo connected on the first pitch for a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first, but Revs starter Nick Mikolajchak (6-1) went on to set down his next 10 in-a-row and 15 of the next 16.
York quickly burst ahead with three in the second. Mike Rosario pushed the Revs ahead with a two-run double to the gap in left center and Nick Dunn added a sac fly for a 3-1 advantage on his 116th RBI of the year (third in Revs history, ninth in league history).
It was the start of five consecutive innings with a run as York scored twice more in the third. Shed Long Jr. ripped an RBI single to right for the first tally and Jackson Ross bolted home when catcher Isaiah Mirabal errantly threw back to the mound.
Tomo Otosaka made it back-to-back days with a homer, blasting an opposite field shot to left on the first pitch of the fourth inning for his 11th of the year.
Drew Ramirez stole third and scored on a throwing error by Mirabal in the fifth inning, and Ross supplied a sac fly to right field for his 97th RBI as the lead widened to 8-1 in the sixth.
Mikolajchak’s only other run allowed came on a Kennys Vargas sac fly in the sixth as he worked six innings with just two runs on four hits. He struck out a career-high nine batters without a walk including five consecutive outs via strikeout at one point. It marked his 10th time in 13 starts allowing two runs or fewer this season.
Jacob Teter drove in the season’s final run with a sac fly to left in the top of the eighth, finishing with a league-leading 127 RBI, second most in Atlantic League history and two shy of the league’s all-time mark.
Ryan Shreve, Josh Mollerus, and Trey Braithwaite closed it out with perfect innings out of the bullpen as York pitchers combined to set down the final 12 batters faced.
York finishes the season with four consecutive wins including five out of six during the final week.
Among the numerous records that were established, York’s .308 team batting average broke the previous Atlantic League record of .303 (Newark, 2008) as they become just the third team with a .300-plus average in league history. York had the top four individual batters (Brian Rey .346, Teter .340, Dunn .339, Otosaka .337), a league-first. Rey’s average is tied for third highest in club history, Teter finishes fifth, Dunn is tied for sixth, and Otosaka is tied for ninth.
The Revs finished with a league record 950 runs, topping the previous mark by a whopping 66 (Lexington, 884 in 2021). York’s 7.6 runs per game also established an all-time league best.
Other team Atlantic League records set included RBI (891), on-base percentage (.396), and OPS (.904).
York led the league in batting for a third consecutive year and in doubles for the fourth straight year. They led in runs for the third time in four years (finished second last season).
Notes: The Revs are a league best 303-199 over the past four seasons under Rick Forney and his coaching staff of hitting coach Derek Wolfe and pitching coach Joe Harris. They finish the 2026 season 30 games over .500, their highest mark of the year. The 43-20 second half ties the sixth highest winning percentage for one half in league history and the third highest ever in a second half. York went a league-best 42-21 at home, tied for the best mark in club history; they finish 36-27 on the road including a 23-8 mark from July 9-on. The Revs went 21-3 against the FerryHawks. Rey’s club record hits total finishes at 179 after he collected two more on Sunday; it’s the league’s highest total since 2022. Teter closed the year on a 15-game hitting streak and totaled 23 RBI in 12 games in September. Otosaka scored twice as he finishes the year with 123 runs, second most in franchise history and fourth most in league history. Teter finished closely behind with 118 runs (third in Revs history) as did Dunn with 117 runs (fourth in Revs history).
Next: The Revs will open their 20th season on April 20, 2027 at Staten Island. They will open the home portion of the schedule on April 23, 2027, also against the FerryHawks.
