(August 6, 2026 – York, Pa.):  The York Revolution were denied of a series sweep, dropping Thursday night’s finale to the Long Island Ducks, 8-5 in 12 innings at WellSpan Park. York takes two of three in the series which concludes with the Revs holding a 4.5-game lead for first place with a 23-6 second half record.

The game began after a one hour and 19 minute rain delay, the Revs’ third longest of the season. The 12-inning contest tied the Revs’ longest of the year, and at four hours and 30 minutes, the action concluded at 12:19 a.m., the eighth-latest finish in franchise history.

York jumped to an early lead, scoring two in the first on Nick Dunn’s RBI double to left center and Shed Long Jr.’s sac fly. The Revs outscored the Ducks 10-0 in the first inning in the series but offense was difficult to come by from there as the Revs did not score again until there were two outs in the ninth.

Returning from the Minnesota Twins organization, Revs starter Nick Mikolajchak worked four scoreless innings and allowed just one hit in his first outing with York since May 26. He struck out four and got a great running grab by center fielder Devonte Brown to leave the bases loaded in the third, and worked past a leadoff double in the fourth, striking out Terrell Tatum to keep the Ducks off the board.

Long Island plated a run without needing a hit in the fifth as Wilmer Difo walked, stole two bags, and scored on Henry Kusiak’s ground out. Marcus Chiu doubled to deep right with two outs, but right fielder Mike Rosario made a great throw to first baseman Jacob Teter who relayed a strike to nail Gavin Collins attempting to score as the Revs’ outfield defense came up big again.

The Ducks plated another run without the need of a hit, tying the game in the seventh. This time it was unearned as Jacob Robson walked, stole second, advanced on a passed ball, and scored on a wild pitch to even the margin at 2-2.

Long Island still had just two hits all night until Tatum launched an opposite field homer to left center leading off the ninth, breaking the tie with a 3-2 advantage.

Trailing for the first time in the series, the Revs were facing dominant Ducks closer Ramon Santos who was in search of the final six outs. Down to their last out, Austin Bates was hit by a pitch and a trio of wild pitches brought home pinch runner Pedro Moreno with the tying run, forcing extras with the game tied 3-3.

Chiu doubled in a run in the top of the tenth, but Shane Gray induced a force at the plate and retired Alsander Womack on a 6-4-3 double play with the bases loaded to keep it a one-run game.

Teter immediately brought the Revs even, drilling a game-tying RBI single off the right field fence in the bottom of the tenth, but Ducks reliever Jose Cruz prevented the winning run as he also induced an inning-ending double play.

Zach Sabers rolled another 6-4-3 double play, retiring Kusiak with the bases loaded as the Ducks did not score in the 11^th, but Cruz matched him, retiring all three in the bottom half to strand the Revs’ potential winning run at third.

Long Island broke through with four in the 12^th, the most runs ever allowed by the Revs in the 11^th inning or later of a game. Aaron Takacs broke the tie with an RBI single through the middle and Jorge Bonifacio delivered a crushing two-run double to left center. Tatum came through in the clutch again with an RBI single up the middle to pad the lead.

Brian Rey’s RBI double to right center in the bottom of the 12^th brought the tying run to the plate, but lefty Garrett Crowley entered to record a pair of strikeouts and ended the game when Long Jr. clobbered a deep drive to right center that was caught by Bonifacio right in front of the wall, as the bid to tie the game in dramatic fashion came up just feet short.

Notes: The Revs finish the homestand with a 5-3 record. York slips to a league-best 58-34 overall. Dunn extended his on-base streak to 41 games, the league’s third longest this season and fourth longest in Revs history. Teter’s RBI is his 92^nd of the year, tying Andres Perez (2015) for eighth most in a season in team history, just 15 shy of the all-time record. Rey’s RBI is his 90^th as he also reaches the top 10; it would be his 91^st RBI including Sunday’s suspended contest. York has been involved in two of this year’s only four Atlantic League games that have lasted 12 innings or longer. The Revs had played just two 12-inning games since 2021 prior to this year; it is the first time they’ve played multiple games of 12 innings or longer in the same season since 2016. The Revs slip to 2-5 in extra-inning contests. Both teams stranded 13 runners. York drew nine walks but issued 14 free passes. The Ducks tallied six steals, tied for the most in a game against York this year.
