(September 5, 2026 – York, Pa.): The York Revolution fell to the Long Island Ducks, 12-9 on Saturday night in front of 6,149 fans at WellSpan Park. York (73-46, 38-18) holds a one-game lead for first place in the second half with seven to play as they wrap up the regular season home schedule in a crucial showdown on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Jackson Ross homered and drove in four while Jacob Teter went yard again, moving into the top five in a season in franchise history with his 27th as the Revs became the first team in league history to go over 900 runs in a season.
But Long Island launched six home runs, the most allowed by the Revs since 2012, including three by Anthony Garcia as the teams have alternated wins and losses through the first five games of the series.
The Ducks led immediately as Wilmer Difo led off the game with a homer to right on the first pitch and Henry Kusiak went to dead center on the second pitch for back-to-back long balls. Rene Pinto added a two-out RBI double to left as the Ducks spotted themselves a 3-0 head start.
York answered as Brian Rey lined a sac fly to center and Ross nailed an RBI double off the Arch Nemesis, clawing within 3-2 in the bottom of the first.
Gavin Collins spun an RBI single into right in the second for the Ducks.
Devonte Brown cracked an opposite field homer to right in the bottom of the second as his 13th of the year and second of the week brought York within a run again, down 4-3.
The Ducks maintained control, scoring in each of the first seven innings. They built the lead as Kusiak singled home a run in the third before Garcia and Kole Kaler (3-for-5) led off the next two innings with round trippers. Garcia added a broken bat bloop single to right in the fifth and Kusiak (4-for-6, four RBI) smacked a two-run single up the middle in the sixth as the lead grew to 10-3.
Teter launched his 27th homer of the season to right center in the bottom of the sixth, achieving the fifth most in a season in club history. He has hit six homers on his current eight-game hitting streak including five through five games this series.
Garcia led off the seventh with another homer to left center, his second of the night as the Ducks led 11-4.
York plated two in the bottom of the seventh on Rey’s second sac fly of the night and on an error, drawing within 11-6.
Trey Braithwaite struck out the side for his sixth consecutive scoreless outing in the eighth, notching the only scoreless frame of the night on the mound for the Revs.
Garcia (5-for-6, four RBI) capped his enormous night with his third solo homer to left center in the top of the ninth, finishing off the Ducks’ scoring.
Ross extended the game with two outs in the ninth, hammering a three-run homer to right center as his 17th of the year extended his RBI total to 92 on the season. Shed Long Jr. singled to force Ducks closer Ramon Santos into the game with the tying run on deck, but a game-ending ground out finished the contest.
York starter Julian Costa (9-3) suffered the loss as his 11.1-inning scoreless streak came to an end. He was charged with eight runs over four-plus innings before York turned to the bullpen.
Notes: Nick Dunn went 2-for-5 with three runs; he extended his hitting streak to 12 games, ripped his league-leading 37th double (T-7th in Revs history), and increased his run total to 114, moving into third on the Revs’ all-time list, just behind teammate Tomo Otosaka who scored his 116th run of the season in Saturday’s tilt. Rey’s two sac flies give him 119 RBI, sixth in league history and 10 shy of the record. Teter’s 117 RBI rank eighth in league history; he is now 10-for-21 with five homers and 13 RBI in the current series after going 3-for-5 on Saturday night. York falls to 6-8 against the Ducks in the second half as Long Island owns the head-to-head tiebreaker should the teams finish tied for first at the end of the season. The Revs allowed a season-high tying 20 hits. Long Island stranded 15 runners, most in a game against York this year. Garcia is the first player to hit three homers in a game against the Revs since Long Island’s Chance Sisco did it on June 17, 2023 at WellSpan Park, also the most recent time a Ducks batter accomplished the feat. Garcia is the fifth Atlantic League player to hit three homers in a game this season and first since Charleston’s Wendell Rijo did it on July 19 vs Southern Maryland. It marks the fourth time a team has hit at least six homers in a game this season and first time since the Revs did it on July 9 at Lexington. It marks the fourth time the Revs have allowed six homers in a game and the first time since allowing a record seven homers on July 16, 2012 vs Bridgeport.
Next: The Revs close the regular season home slate on Sunday at 1 p.m. with RHP Zach Mort (2-0, 3.28) getting the ball in the finale. It is Fan Appreciation Day, Weis Markets Customer Appreciation Day, and Sunday Funday by Weis Markets. Tickets are on sale at YorkRevolution.com, (717) 801-HITS, and in-person at the Shipley Energy Ticket Office.
