(August 12, 2026 – Central Islip, NY): The York Revolution won their fourth consecutive game, 5-2 over the Long Island Ducks on Wednesday night at Fairfield Properties Ballpark, increasing their North Division lead to a season-high 6.5 games having taken the first two head-to-head against the Ducks.
Similar to the opener on Tuesday night, York quickly slipped behind as Jacob Robson connected on the second pitch for a leadoff homer to center. Revs starter Nick Mikolajchak dealt with two other runners in the first, but struck out Henry Kusiak to close the frame before settling in.
York rallied for three runs in the third, taking the lead for good. Drew Ramirez and Austin Bates set the table with singles, and Tomo Otosaka drove a sac fly to left to tie the game at 1-1. After Nick Dunn walked, Devonte Brown drilled a two-run double to the gap in right center, giving York a 3-1 lead.
Long Island answered with a run in the bottom of the third as Robson led off with a double to right and scored on Anthony Garcia’s bloop single to center, but Mikolajchak (4-1) allowed nothing further in his 5.2 innings to earn the win.
Ramirez was once again the table setter in the fifth, battling his way aboard with an 11-pitch walk to start the inning before stealing second. That ultimately set up Brown who lined a two-out RBI single to right center for his third RBI of the night, increasing York’s lead to 4-2.
York added one more insurance run in the eighth as Shed Long Jr. ripped a two-out RBI single to right against reliever Rafael Kelly.
The Revs’ bullpen navigated 3.1 scoreless innings to preserve the victory.
Denny Bentley struck out Kusiak to finish the sixth before handling a scoreless seventh, helped by catcher Austin Bates’ pickoff of Terrell Tatum at third base.
Tyler Thornton struck out two in a dominant 1-2-3 eighth inning to pick up a hold.
Pitching in his third consecutive game, Josh Mollerus recorded the first two outs of the ninth around a pair of walks, and Ryan Shreve entered to retire Jorge Bonifacio on a fly out to center with the tying run at the plate earning his ninth career save and second this season.
York improves to 62-35 and 27-7 in the second half with the win.
Notes: The Revs lead the season series, 5-3 against the Ducks including a 4-1 mark over the last two weeks. York has won 14 of its last 15 road games. The Revs have won 19 of 23 overall, 24 of the last 29, and they are 30-7 since June 30 and 34-10 since June 21, all part of the winningest spans in franchise history. Dunn singled and walked twice, extending his on-base streak to 46 consecutive games, second longest in Revs history. Long Jr.’s single extended his hitting streak to 13 in-a-row while he becomes the fastest in league history to 45 RBI (31 games).
