(August 15, 2026 – Central Islip, NY):  The York Revolution dropped their third straight, 7-1 to the Long Island Ducks on Saturday night at Fairfield Properties Ballpark. York (62-38, 27-10) now leads the North Division by 3.5 games in the second half, enduring their longest losing streak in two months.

The Revs struck first with an unearned run in the first inning on Saturday, but did not cross the plate again.

Brian Rey beat out an attempted double play in the top of the first inning to pick up his 99^th RBI of the year (including the suspended August 2 game), plating Tomo Otosaka who scored for the 98^th time.

Long Island answered with its own unearned run in the first as Wilmer Difo scored when the throw back to the infield was mishandled following Jacob Robson’s two-out double.

The Ducks went ahead with four runs in the second and never looked back. Terrell Tatum’s two-run homer to left put the Ducks ahead to stay while another run scored on a balk and Difo singled home one more for a 5-1 margin.

Revs starter Rhett Kouba (8-4) faced just one over the minimum the rest of the way as Rene Pinto homered in the fourth, but that accounted for the only run allowed by the York righty over the remainder of his six innings.

York was unable to solve Ducks starter Tanner Jacobson (5-5), however, as the righty struck out seven over six innings and allowed just four hits. The Revs had a chance in the third but Jacobson induced a double play ball with the bases loaded. York also threatened with runners at the corners in the fifth but first baseman Aaron Takacs dove to rob Nick Dunn on a grounder to end the inning. Jacobson closed his outing by striking out the side in the sixth.

Trey Braithwaite posted his second scoreless outing with York, handling the seventh.

Jorge Bonifacio tacked on one more for the Ducks with a leadoff homer to left center in the eighth, providing the final margin. Rey gunned down Alsander Womack attempting to score on Pinto’s fly ball to right with catcher Austin Bates making a great diving tag to avoid any further scoring.

Notes: The Revs had not lost three straight since a season-high four-game slide, June 17-20; prior to the current skid, they had gone 34-10 since June 21, one game off the best 44-game stretch in league history. York was held to just one run and five hits for the first time since July 7 in a 4-1 loss at Lexington. They were held without an extra-base hit for just the second time all year (also May 9 at High Point), snapping a streak of 84 consecutive games with at least one extra-base hit. Nick Dunn walked in the third, extending his on-base streak to 49 consecutive games, tying the longest in the league this season and fourth longest on record in league history; he is one shy of tying Carlos Franco’s club record of 50 games in 2022, but did lose his 10-game hitting streak. Rey’s 99 RBI are eight shy of tying a club record and one shy of making him the fourth in Revs history to 100 in a single season and the first since 2019 (Jacob Teter is just behind with 97). Otosaka’s 98 runs move him into sole possession of sixth on the Revs’ single-season list as he ranks second in the league in that category.
