(October 30) — Move over, Lord Stanley. There’s a new touring trophy in town.

The 2017 Atlantic League Champion York Revolution announced today that the team will begin touring the area to give sponsors and local organizations the opportunity to see and take pictures with the Atlantic League Championship trophy, which the Revs brought back to York with a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over the Long Island Ducks on September 29.

Following several champagne showers in the Revolution locker room that night, the trophy has been cleaned up and updated with the Revolution’s third appearance on the list of winners that adorns the trophy’s base.

Team officials will kick off the tour at the offices of team sponsor Smith, Mayer & Liddle tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m.. Revolution mascot DownTown will join the trophy and customers at the Rutter’s store at 2125 Susquehanna Trail and then the Rutter’s at 362 North Main Street in York.

The trophy will then visit employees and patients of WellSpan Health at the team sponsor’s locations at 2319 S. George Street and the Apple Hill Medical Center beginning at 2 p.m.

On Wednesday, November 1, the tour will continue at 9 a.m. at the corporate offices of PeoplesBank, the title sponsor of the Revolution’s ballpark, before a stop at the bank’s location in downtown York.

At 11 a.m. that morning, the tour will stop at the offices of Revolution sponsor Shipley Energy.

On Thursday, the Revolution will take the trophy to meet the staff and clients of Penn-Mar Human Services’ location in Freeland, Maryland, at 9:30 a.m. before visiting the Brimmer Fast Licensing and Notary Service location at 2110 S. Queen Street at 1 p.m.

“It took a real team effort to bring the trophy back to York,” said Revolution Vice President of Business Development Nate Tile. “Like the players on the field, we couldn’t have done it without our terrific sponsors and their employees and customers. It’s a pleasure to be able to share this victory with them.”
