(August 16, 2018) — York Revolution officials, accustomed to dealing in player and team stats, have crunched attendance figures and announced today an exciting estimation: The three millionth fan to attend a York Revolution game will enter PeoplesBank Park on Thursday, August 23.
To mark the attendance milestone, the 12-year-old club will turn the evening into a game-long celebration, beginning with prize cards that will be handed out to the first 2,000 fans in attendance. The cards will feature stickers covering prizes ranging from discounts to the First Capital Federal Credit Union Team Store and one of 333 Revolution hats to behind-the-scenes tours, skybox suite tickets, replica jerseys, and “Ultimate Family Fun Pack” ticket packs.
After gates open at 5:30 p.m., one lucky fan will be identified as the three millionth fan to attend a game and have the honor of throwing out a first pitch, serve as honorary captain, and tell the Revolution and visiting Lancaster Barnstormers to “play ball” that night. He or she will also receive a Revolution jersey, a bat signed by the team, and two 2019 season tickets.
Fans attending the celebration will also have the chance to win three million pennies ($30,000) in a special version of the Shipley Energy Grand Slam Inning, in which a fan’s name is selected to win the cash prize if the Revs hit a grand slam in the designated inning.
Tickets for the evening’s game will be $3 off when fans order with the promo code “3Million,” the ballpark’s beer portables will feature $3 Coors Light cans for three hours, the concession stands will offer $3 jumbo Hatfield hot dogs, and Revolution staffers will hurl dozens of additional prizes into the seating bowl during – you guessed it – the third inning.
“This is a celebration made possible by our fans, so we are going to make the night all about the people who got us to this very impressive milestone,” said Revolution President Eric Menzer. “As proud as we are of our three championships, the support of three million customers over these years means that much more to us, so we are really looking forward to marking this historic occasion.”
Tickets are available here, in the ticket office at PeoplesBank Park, and by calling (717) 801-HITS.
