(September 3, 2026 – York, Pa.): The York Revolution tied the Atlantic League’s all-time runs scored record for a single season but dropped Thursday’s contest to the Long Island Ducks, 7-3 at WellSpan Park. The Revs (72-45, 37-17) once again lead the North Division by one game over Long Island with nine to play in the regular season.
York led early as Jacob Teter cracked a shot to right center for his 24th home run, leading off the bottom of the second. Devonte Brown added a two-out RBI single to center for a 2-0 advantage.
Revs starter Rhett Kouba maneuvered past a pair of walks in the first with a strikeout and a 3-6-1 double play, and escaped a bases loaded, no-out jam in the second with two fly outs and a strikeout.
Long Island broke through in the third, batting around to score four times. After loading the bases on a single, a walk and a hit batter, a wild pitch brought home the first run and Jorge Bonifacio reached the 100 RBI mark with a single to left center to lift the Ducks ahead. Kole Kaler later added a two-out RBI single to center as the Ducks led 4-2.
Kouba (9-5) rebounded to work scoreless frames in the fourth and fifth, keeping the game close.
The Ducks had to go to their bullpen in the fourth after starter Brian Moran was ejected for allegedly having a sticky substance on his glove.
Leonardo Taveras handled a scoreless fourth but allowed a double to Nick Dunn (10-game hitting streak) who scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the fifth, cutting the deficit to 4-3 as the Revs tied the 2021 Lexington Legends for the Atlantic League record with 884 runs scored.
Long Island pulled away with RBI singles by Henry Kusiak and Bonifacio in the sixth, and by Jacob Robson in the seventh.
York was unable to draw any closer. Shed Long Jr. doubled and Drew Ramirez reached on an infield single with one out in the sixth, but the Ducks bullpen combined to set down the next 10 in-a-row.
The Revs brought the tying run to the on deck circle in the ninth as Brown walked and Tomo Otosaka reached on an infield single, but the Revs were limited to just three runs for the second time in the series with a 16-run outburst in Wednesday’s victory sandwiched in between.
Trey Braithwaite worked two scoreless innings out of the Revs bullpen, including an eighth inning that saw Long Island manager Lew Ford and Aaron Antonini ejected for arguing balls and strikes. The Ducks had four on-field personnel ejected in the game as Anthony Garcia had also been tossed from the dugout during the dispute involving Moran in the fourth inning.
Notes: Dunn has four hitting streaks of at least 10 games this season. Teter ties Dunn for the team lead with 24 homers and now has 110 RBI, just behind Dunn (111) and Brian Rey (116) who have all broken the previous club record for RBI in a season (107). Teter adds to his club record with 81 RBI in 59 games played at WellSpan Park. The Ducks stranded 12 runners and have left double digit totals in all three games in the series. The Revs, who lead the league in fewest strikeouts, struck out a season-high 13 times and have struck out 10 or more times in back-to-back games for the first time since June 19-20 vs Southern Maryland.
