(May 25) — Revolution fans will make the jump to hyperspace this Saturday as PeopleBank Park again hosts Star Wars Night, marking the 40th anniversary of the first movie in the giant film saga, which debuted on May 25, 1977.

When gates open at 5:30 p.m., fans will step into the “galaxy far, far away” and meet costumed characters from the Star Wars universe portrayed by members of the 501st Legion’s Garrison Carida and Rebel Legion Ghost Base. Jedi and Sith will clash on the field in lightsaber battles staged by the Capital City Jedi Knights, and Star Wars sound effects, movie clips, and music will fill the Revolution’s game against the Sugar Land Skeeters.

Star Wars fans of all ages are welcome to dress as their favorite characters and take part in Star Wars-themed activities throughout the night, including a battle of the Death Stars and a pod race around the field. They can even leave with a custom Star Wars-inspired jersey through a jersey auction presented by LifePath Christian Ministries.

After the game, the Revolution will light up the skies with an inside-the-park fireworks display presented by AAA Southern PA and set to the iconic soundtracks of the Star Wars films.

AAA members will also receive a free ticket with each ticket purchased by displaying their AAA cards in the Apple Chevrolet Ticket Office.

“We are incredibly excited to join fans across the globe in celebrating the 40th anniversary of Star Wars,” said Doug Eppler, director of marketing and communications. “Revs games are always filled with great entertainment beyond the high-caliber action on the field, and we cannot wait to combine the passion of Revs fans with the dedication of Star Wars fans. If you are a fan of either, you’re going to want to be here for this.”

Tickets are available HERE, by phone at (717) 801-HITS, or in the Apple Chevrolet Ticket Office at PeoplesBank Park.
