BOX SCORE

Curtis Partch continued his success in the starter’s role, tossing a season-high 6.1 innings, as the York Revolution topped the Lancaster Barnstormers, 4-2, in front of 3,881 at PeoplesBank Park on Friday night.

Lancaster struck first in the top of the first, as Rico Noel was hit by a pitch and then stole second. It was the first of three steals on the night for Noel, as he would come around to score on a K.C. Hobson single to right, to put the visitors up 1-0.

The Revs responded quickly in the bottom of the inning, on back-to-back two-out singles by Isaias Tejeda and Joel Guzman putting Angel Franco in an RBI spot. Franco lined a knuckle ball to straight away center which Darian Sandford dropped, tying the score at one.

The Revs added two runs in the third, as Travis Witherspoon was hit by a pitch ahead of an Alonzo Harris single. Tejeda then came through with an RBI double off the wall in left to score Witherspoon, and Guzman followed with an RBI groundout to plate Harris, as the Revs took a 3-1 lead.

York would tack on a fourth run in the fifth inning as Tejeda would reach on his third hit of the game and score on a bases loaded wild pitch by Lancaster starter Nate Reed.

The Barnstormers would respond in the sixth, beginning the frame with a single from Tyler Clark and a bloop double off the bat of Sandford. Clark would score on a Noel groundout as Lancaster trimmed the deficit to 4-2.

Partch exited with one out and two on in the seventh, allowing just two earned runs on seven hits while striking out four. Luke Westphal entered and hit Vladimir Frias with a pitch to load the bases, but recorded a strikeout and a groundout to escape the jam.

Chase Huchingson and Brad Allen followed suit, as each allowed a baserunner but neither would allow a run across. Huchingson allowed a leadoff walk to Noel followed by two steals, but left him stranded at third, striking out Hobson and Sean Halton to get out of it.

Allen nailed down the save, his fifth of the season, rolling a double play ball off the bat of Frias to erase a one-out single by Lastings Milledge, sealing the win.
