(June 20, 2018) — Pat McCoy tossed seven standout innings as the York Revolution pulled away for a 4-1 win over the Road Warriors on Wednesday night at PeoplesBank Park, bringing their winning streak to three consecutive games. The Revs will go for a four-game sweep on Thursday evening.

The Revs scored first for the second straight night, getting to Road Warriors starter Brandon Bargas in the bottom of the second. After Michael Burgess worked a two-out walk, Ryan Dent smacked an RBI double off the top of the high wall in right field to give the Revs a 1-0 lead.

McCoy started for the Revs and was locked in all night. He retired the first five batters that he faced and didn’t allow a hit until the third inning, when the Road Warriors tied the game at 1-1.

With one out in the inning, Osvaldo Martinez hit a line drive to left field that hit off Welington Dotel’s glove and got far enough away from him for Matt Hibbert to score from second base.

The game remained tied going into the bottom of the sixth when Dotel led off with a double to the left field wall. Jared Mitchell followed with a go-ahead line drive RBI single to left-center off Road Warriors reliever Luis Cruz, putting the Revs ahead 2-1.

McCoy cruised through the Road Warriors lineup and retired the leadoff batter in all seven of his innings. He got 12 ground-ball outs and faced four batters or fewer in all but one inning. McCoy gave up just the one unearned run, scattering four hits with three strikeouts and two walks.

Alexi Casilla provided a couple of insurance runs on a single up the middle off Andrew Johnston with two outs in the seventh to bring home Dent and Tyler Clark, pushing the Revs’ lead to 4-1.

Right-hander James Pugliese took over for McCoy in the eighth and fired a scoreless inning in his Revs debut.

Junior Rincon nailed down his eighth save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning.

McCoy (1-2) earned his first win of the season in his best outing so far while Cruz (1-2) suffered the loss for the Road Warriors.

Notes: The Revs turned four double plays on the night; it’s the third time this season they’ve done that, all at home. The Revs recorded 16 ground outs as a staff. The win streak is the Revs' fifth of three games or more on the season, as they look to tie a season-best with a fourth straight win on Thursday night.

Up Next: The Revs go for the four-game series sweep of the Road Warriors Thursday at 6:30 p.m. RHP Joe Van Meter (2-1, 2.61) will start for the Revs while RHP Felix Baez (1-5, 5.90) will start for the Road Warriors. It is Rutter's Night at the game. Tickets are on sale at YorkRevolution.com, (717) 801-HITS, and in-person at the Revs Ticket Office.
