(August 28, 2026 – Staten Island, NY):  Brian Rey broke the all-time franchise record for RBI in a season and Rhett Kouba spun 6.1 brilliant innings in a combined three-hit shutout as the York Revolution won for the eighth time in the past 10 games, defeating the Staten Island FerryHawks, 4-0 on Friday night at SIUH Community Park. The Revs (70-42, 35-14) maintain their three-game lead for first place with 14 games remaining in the regular season as their magic number shrinks to 12.

Rey opened the scoring with his historic RBI in the top of the third. After Nick Dunn drew a two-out walk from FerryHawks starter Juan Fernandez to keep the inning alive, Rey drilled an RBI double off the base of the fence in right field for his franchise record 108^th RBI of the season, surpassing the previous record of 107 by Chris Nowak which had stood since 2012.

The Revs were unable to add on against Fernandez (1-8) despite loading the bases in the fourth and leaving two more in the fifth, but the offense did add runs against the FerryHawks bullpen in the sixth and seventh.

Drew Ramirez (2-for-3) led off the sixth with a single to right and Mike Rosario was hit by a pitch to set the table against righty Alex Jankowski. Oscar Hernandez laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance both runners. With the infield in, Tomo Otosaka greeted lefty Andrew Imperatore with a sac fly to left to make it 2-0.

Jacob Teter launched a towering solo homer to right, his 22^nd of the year, as the lead expanded to 3-0 in the seventh.

Kouba (9-4) carved his way through 6.1 innings, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out four. His only hits allowed came on a bloop double in the second, an infield single in the fourth, and a wind-blown pop up that fell in shallow center, ending his outing with one out in the seventh.

Brendan Collins cleaned up the seventh out of the bullpen, stranding a pair in doing so and Ryan Shreve logged his sixth straight scoreless outing with a 1-2-3 eighth.

Rey went to work on an insurance run with a leadoff walk to start the ninth and moved to second on a wild pitch by righty Justin Needles. Teter (3-for-4) singled up the middle to put runners at the corners and a double play ball plated Rey for the final 4-0 margin.

Josh Mollerus closed it out with a groundout and a pair of strikeouts in a 1-2-3 ninth.

The shutout win is the Revs’ first of the year and their first since June 18, 2025 vs Hagerstown.

Notes: Rey and Dunn both doubled and are tied for the league lead with 34 doubles on the year. Teter’s homer accounted for his 104^th RBI of the season, just behind Rey (108) and Dunn (106). Kouba’s 6.1 innings marked his longest outing since July 22 as he allowed one run or fewer for the eighth time this season. York’s bullpen owns a 2.25 ERA over the past five games after combining for 2.2 scoreless innings in Friday’s game. The Revs played error free for the 10^th time in the last 11 contests. The Revs moved past the 2005 Nashua Pride for fourth most runs in a season in league history (848). The Revs’ .714 winning percentage in the second half is on pace to establish the best second half in league history and tie the third highest in any half.

Next: York righty Chris McElvain (0-1) makes his second start on Saturday night against righty Wilber Perez (0-4) for the FerryHawks.
