(July 3, 2026 – York, Pa.): Braden Scott struck out 12 and the York Revolution got a trio of big home runs in a 12-1 blowout win over the Lancaster Stormers in the second half opener on Friday night at WellSpan Park. York starts the second half 1-0 with their fourth consecutive win overall, improving to 36-28 on the season.
Scott (5-4) went a Revs season-best eight innings and allowed just one run on 10 hits (eight singles). He walked none and tied a Revs single-game record for a lefty with 12 strikeouts for the second time, shouldering a 119-pitch workload on a 100-degree night while going over 100 strikeouts for the season.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth as the Revs built a 4-0 lead on a pair of two-run homers to right center by Jacob Teter (14) and Devonte Brown (9).
Lancaster received a run-scoring groundout from Alan Alonso in the fifth, but that was all the Stormers could push across.
Jackson Ross launched a three-run homer to left in the bottom of the fifth as his ninth of the year ballooned the lead to 7-1.
The Revs rallied for four more in the sixth as Austin Bates clobbered an RBI double off the top of the Arch Nemesis, Tomo Otosaka lined an RBI single to right on a 3-0 green light, and Brian Rey extended his hitting streak to 18 consecutive games with a two-run single to left center, giving him 60 RBI on the year and 85 total hits.
York plated one more on a wild pitch in the seventh while the rest of the night belonged to Scott.
Now boasting a league lead by 23 strikeouts over the next closest arm, Scott struck out Troy Schreffler looking to end the sixth with his eighth punchout of the night and 100th of the season, becoming the league’s second fastest all-time to the century mark doing so in just his 13th start.
Scott worked past a leadoff double in the seventh, striking out the final two of the inning to notch his fourth double-digit strikeout game of the year, joining Jorge Martinez (2022) and Nick Raquet (2023) as the only pitchers in Revs history with four in one season.
He repeated the feat of stranding a leadoff double in the eighth, retiring Nathan Martorella on a fly out to secure the longest outing by a Revs pitcher this season. He froze Michael Snyder for his 11th strikeout of the night, giving the Revs their franchise record fifth 11-plus strikeout effort by a starter this year. Scott finished off his masterpiece, striking out Joe DeLuca swinging for his 12th of the night, tying his Revs career high while becoming the first in franchise history with multiple games of 12 or more strikeouts.
In fitting fashion, Hunter Parsons closed it out by striking out the side in the ninth as the Revs recorded 15 whiffs as a team.
Notes: Scott’s 12 strikeouts fall within one of a single-game franchise record while he ties Chris Cody (2013) for the Revs lefty single-game record for the second time this year. It marked the sixth individual performance of 12 or more strikeouts in a game in franchise history and the third to be accomplished without a walk. Scott is the first Revs pitcher to go eight innings since Michael Horrell did it in a complete game loss on June 24, 2025 at Lancaster; it’s the longest a Revs starter has gone in a victory since Danny Denz went all nine in a win at Hagerstown on June 10, 2025. In ALPB history, only Long Island’s Bennett Parry (2018) has gotten to 100 strikeouts quicker (12 starts) while Scott’s former teammate Chris Vallimont had previously been the second fastest at 15 games last season (records available since 2010 season). Scott leads the league with 104 strikeouts and 81.0 innings. Bates picked off his ninth runner of the season, erasing Alonso at third base for the second out of the third inning. Otosaka became the sixth in Revs history to 70 career steals when he stole second base in the sixth inning; he ties Welington Dotel for fifth on the franchise’s all-time list with 70 steals. Ross becomes the third in Revs history to reach base safely in 40 consecutive games, joining Carlos Franco (50 straight in 2022) and Nate Espy (45 in-a-row in 2007). Ross’ homer marked his seventh consecutive game with an extra-base hit. Rey has reached safely in 37 straight, the fourth-longest on-base streak in club history. Teter’s two-run homer gives him 14 RBI in four games on the current homestand. Mike Rosario went 3-for-4 with two steals; it marked his most hits in a game since a four-hit performance on May 8 at High Point and he now has five steals in his last five games. York has won five straight at home. The Revs even this year’s War of the Roses series at 5-5.
