(July 28, 2018) – The York Revolution saw a three-game winning streak halted, falling to the Sugar Land Skeeters, 5-2 on Saturday night in front of 5,472 fans at Constellation Field. The Revs fall to 2.5 games behind Sugar Land in the standings with the seven-game series now even at one win apiece.

Sugar Land struck first in the bottom of the first inning, scoring the game's first run on a Courtney Hawkins sac fly.

The Revs drew even in the third, tying the score at 1-1. Luis Cruz reached on an infield single and made a great read going first to third on a Jared Mitchell single to center to put runners at the corners. Alexi Casilla brought Cruz home with a sac fly to center on a 3-0 green light, bringing the scoreboard all square.

Juan Silverio put the Skeeters back in front, tagging a home run to left on the first pitch in the bottom of the third.

Sugar Land extended the lead in the fourth. Derek Norris worked a leadoff walk to start the inning and stole second. After advancing to third on a ground out for the second out, Norris came home on a wild pitch to make it 3-1.

The Revs inched back within a run in the fifth. Henry Castillo drew a one-out walk and Cruz followed with a single to right to set the table. A fly ball advanced Castillo to third base, and Casilla came through with a two-out line drive single that ricocheted off third base umpire Eric Davis, bringing Castillo home to make it 3-2.

Sugar Land recouped that run in the bottom of the fifth as Anthony Giansanti singled and Hawkins walked with one out. After a double steal, Chavez skied a sac fly to center, increasing the lead to 4-2.

Chavez added a solo homer to left in the bottom of the eighth for the final margin.

The Revs were kept at bay by Skeeters starter Matt Gage (1-0) who worked five innings, allowing two runs to win his Atlantic League debut. All-Star selection Dallas Beeler returned from a stint in the Kansas City Royals organization to work three scoreless innings out of the bullpen, while Felipe Paulino struck out the side, walking one for his league-leading 21st save.

Revs starter Dominic Severino (4-6) suffered the loss, charged with four runs in five innings of work.

York righty Mitch Atkins (7-4, 4.41) faces Sugar Land right-hander Matt Sergey (4-4, 4.16) in Sunday's game at 7:05 p.m. ET.
