York first baseman honored for second time following huge week at the plate

York Revolution first baseman Jacob Teter has been named Atlantic League Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday morning. The award is the second of the season for Teter who was also the league’s Player of the Week, June 30-July 5.

Teter went 12-for-24, batting .500 with five home runs, three doubles, 13 RBI, and nine runs scored across six division battles against Long Island last week. He led all hitters with a 1.806 OPS and a 1.250 slugging percentage for the week. He had multiple hits in five of the six games, homered in four games, and drove in runs in five games including a two-homer, six-RBI performance in Friday’s 10-1 victory.

It marks the second consecutive week that the Revs have been represented in the Atlantic League’s weekly awards as left handed pitcher Julian Costa was named ALPB Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season the week before.

Through Sunday’s action, Teter ranked third in the league in batting (.332), fifth in home runs (27), third in RBI (117), tied for third in OPS (1.004), third in hits (156), fourth in runs (110), and second in total bases (274). His home run total ranks fifth most in Revs history while his RBI total ranks second behind teammate Brian Rey’s 119. His 117 RBI also currently place him eighth in league history, just 12 shy of the league record.

Last week’s 13 RBI capped off a home regular season slate that saw him drive in an incredible 89 runs in 62 games played at home, demolishing the Revs’ previous record for RBI at home in a season of 65 set by Jason Aspito in 2008.

The Atlantic League Player of the Week honor comes on the heels of being named one of the Revs’ three co-Players of the Year prior to Sunday’s home regular season finale alongside teammates Rey and Nick Dunn, along with his selection as this year’s recipient of the organization’s Corey Thurman Community Player of the Year award.
