(August 22, 2026 – York, Pa.): Jacob Teter joined the 100 RBI club but it was an otherwise quiet night for the York Revolution who suffered a 10-2 setback to the High Point Rockers on Saturday night at WellSpan Park, halting their four-game winning streak. York (66-41, 31-13) has its first place lead cut to three games with 19 to play.
The Revs fell behind big right away as Ivan Melendez blasted a three-run homer to left center, spotting the Rockers a 3-0 lead, three batters into the game. Ethan Skender later added a bloop RBI single to make it a four-run inning against debuting Revs starter Chris McElvain who struck out a pair in the inning and picked off another.
McElvain (0-1) rebounded to work a 1-2-3 second inning to conclude his first outing in over three weeks as the former Toronto Blue Jays prospect signed with the Revs earlier in the day.
Arlo Marynczak, activated earlier in the day after being acquired via trade from Tri-City of the Frontier League for infielder Pedro Moreno earlier in the week, debuted with a scoreless third but was victimized by a big fourth inning. After a double play put him on the cusp of escaping a jam, the Rockers strung together a series of backbreaking two-out hits as Luke Napleton doubled home a run, Melendez singled in another, and Ryan McCarthy drove a two-run homer to left. Nick Longhi followed with his own blast to left as the Rockers’ back-to-back homers punctuated a five-run inning to build a 9-0 lead.
Marynczak’s next three innings were scoreless as he worked five innings total, the Revs’ longest relief outing since early in the 2019 season.
Held to just an infield hit by Jackson Ross through the opening four innings against Rockers starter Justin Jarvis, the Revs finally scored against reliever Daniel Blair with two outs in the sixth. Shed Long Jr., celebrating his 31st birthday, singled to right and advanced on a wild pitch. That set up Teter who nailed his 30th double of the year on a liner to right, picking up his 100th RBI of the season to break up the shutout.
Mike Rosario tripled to right and scored on a wild pitch with two outs in the seventh, accounting for the Revs’ other run.
Trey Braithwaite fired a scoreless eighth out of the Revs bullpen.
Melendez led off the ninth with a homer to left center against Scott Borgmann, as the Rockers’ three-hole hitter finished 4-for-5 with two homers and five RBI.
Notes: Marynczak’s five innings mark the longest outing by a Revs reliever since Foster Pace went five on April 27, 2025 at Gastonia. High Point (48-59, 19-25) snaps a five-game slide. The Revs were held to a season-low four hits. Teter becomes the fifth player in Revs history to 100 RBI as his total ranks tied for fourth. Teter joins Brian Rey (103 RBI) as just the third set of teammates in league history to both total 100+ RBI in a season, matching the 2021 Lexington Legends (Tillman Pugh and Ben Aklinski) and the 2008 Long Island Ducks (Ray Navarette and Carl Everett). When Nick Dunn, currently at 99 RBI, joins the group, the Revs will have a record three with players listed.
Next: The Revs will look to close the home series win a win on Sunday at 1 p.m. as LHP Brendan Yagesh (1-1, 4.56) opposes fellow southpaw Alex Barker.
