(June 8, 2018) — It was a long night for the York Revolution as the Long Island Ducks cruised to a 14-3 blowout win behind a complete game from starter Jair Jurrjens and an eight-run third inning on Friday night at PeoplesBank Park. The Revs’ three game winning streak comes to an end with the loss.

The Ducks got single runs in the first and second innings off Revs starter Dominic Severino before breaking out in the third.

After Severino struck out Cody Puckett with the bases loaded for the second out of the third, he hit Alec Sole on the first pitch to force in a run. The next three batters reached base on singles before Severino was pulled from the game with the Ducks up 7-0.

When the inning was finally over, the Ducks pushed across eight runs on six hits, including a Travis Snider three-run home run to left-center field off reliever Tyler Cravy to take a commanding 10-0 lead. Seven of the eight runs were charged to Severino.

Jurrjens was dealing from the start and retired the first 13 Revs batters he faced. The Revs didn’t get their first base runner of the game until Melky Mesa singled to left with one out in the fifth.

The Revs went on to break up the shutout in the fifth when Ryan Dent cracked a two-out, two-RBI double off the top of the wall in right-center, missing a home run by inches to make it a 10-2 game.

The Ducks went on to score two runs each in the sixth and eighth innings, while the Revs scored one more time on a wild pitch in the ninth before Jurrjens closed out the 14-3 win.

Jurrjens (3-2) went the distance, tossing his first complete game since 2013. The eight-year Major League veteran gave up three runs (two earned) and scattered seven hits with five strikeouts and no walks.

Severino (2-3) suffered the loss for the Revs, charged with nine runs on ten hits in 2.2 innings.

Jared Mitchell extended his hitting streak to 14 games on a sixth inning single while Rubi Silva had the only multi-hit game for the Revs.
