(May 4, 2018) — Sports talk station 1350 WOYK announced today it has launched a new app that offers more features than its predecessor, added streaming video to accompany play-by-play radio feeds of York Revolution away games, and created a sign-up button on the Revs website for fans who want game recaps emailed directly to them.

“We may be York’s oldest radio station, but we are keeping up with the many different and modern ways our listeners seek their sports information,” said WOYK General Manager and Revs play-by-play broadcaster Darrell Henry. “We are excited about all of these improved ways we have of delivering all the Revolution action and keeping Yorkers up on all of the teams that they follow.”

Available on the Apple and Google Play app stores, the new app – appropriately listed as “The New WOYK” – features an easy-to-use navigation and a menu that includes a “Listen Live” function, an archive center for broadcasts of previous games, a robust gallery of Revolution game photos, links to WOYK social media pages, and a link to the WOYK YouTube page.

That YouTube page has also been enhanced with the addition of video coverage of all Revolution road games. The station will stream a single-camera video feed of the Revolution’s 56 away games, in addition to its multi-camera feeds of the 71 openings at PeoplesBank Park this season.

The new app also provides a link to the Revolution’s website, www.yorkrevolution.com, which now features a button through which fans can sign up to have in-depth recaps emailed directly to them from WOYK after each game.
