Six York Revolution players contributed to the win at Wednesday night's Atlantic League All-Star Game at TD Bank Ballpark, home of the Somerset Patriots, where the Freedom Division defeated the Liberty Division 10-3.
Outfielder Travis Witherspoon and catcher Isaias Tejeda started for the Freedom Division and were placed at the top of the order. Both went 2 for 3, with Witherspoon scoring twice and Tejeda scoring once and driving in a run, which happened to be Witherspoon.
They were replaced midway through the game by Revs' teammates Michael Burgess and Alonzo Harris. Harris went 1 for 2 with a run scored, while Burgess was 2 for 2 with two runs scored and an RBI. His RBI came on a double that plated Harris.
Relief pitchers Chase Huchingson and Brad Allen pitched back-to-back scoreless innings for the Freedom Division. Huchingson pitched the seventh inning, and Allen entered for the eighth, with both men allowing a hit, but no damage.
The Atlantic League will resume play on Friday with a full slate of games. The Revolution will begin a three-game weekend series against the Bridgeport Bluefish on Friday at PeoplesBank Park, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available here.
