(August 8) — The wackiest promotion on the York Revolution calendar returns to PeoplesBank Park this Friday night, August 11, as the ZOOperstars! bring their hilarious inflated spoofs of sports greats to the 6:30 p.m. game against the New Britain Bees.
Sponsored by Penn-Mar Human Services and featuring the likes of Donovan McCrabb, Squidney Crosby, Shark McGwire, Tim Tebull, Monkey Mantle, and Harry Canary, the ZOOperstars! characters will take to the field between innings for dance routines and comedy sketches that team officials said embody the family-friendly fun of a Revolution game.
“The ZOOperstars! are always a hit here in York, as they are all across the country,” said Revolution President Eric Menzer. “We are extremely grateful to Penn-Mar Human Services for helping us bring this renowned entertainment group back to the area for their only appearance in York this year. It is exactly the type of zany fun that makes the Revolution experience unique and appealing to families and fans of all ages.”
The team hopes to welcome more of those families and the team’s younger fans back to PeoplesBank Park the following evening, August 12, when tickets for fans 16 and under will be just $5 each. Fans can order their discounted youth tickets using the promo code “revsyouth” here.
That evening’s 6:30 p.m. game will be followed by another inside-the-park fireworks display.
Saturday is also Wedding Night at the ballpark, which will feature the pre-game nuptials of a lucky couple who won a free wedding sponsored by First Capital Federal Credit Union. The Revolution also invites all married couples to participate in a pre-game vow renewal ceremony on the field.
